SK Group market cap tops 2000 trillion won for first time, led by SK Hynix
The total market cap of South Korea's SK Group listed companies surpassed 2000 trillion won (about $1.321 trillion) for the first time on Tuesday, driven by a recent surge in memory chip maker SK Hynix's stock.
Korea Exchange data showed that as of 2:34 p.m. local time Tuesday, the total market cap of 19 SK Group listed companies stood at about 2015 trillion won, up 2.62% from the previous close.
Among them, SK Hynix's stock rose as much as 3.56% in afternoon trading to about 2.36 million won per share, with a market cap of 1688 trillion won, accounting for 83.7% of SK Group's total listed market cap.
Meanwhile, the total market cap of Samsung Group listed companies rose 1.95% to 2546 trillion won.
