US-Iran peace deal may be signed; Singapore stocks open up 0.92%
As the US and Iran reached an agreement, Asian markets cheered. Singapore's Straits Times Index opened up 0.92% on Monday (June 15).
As of 9:15 a.m., the STI rose another 1.09% or 55.03 points to 5,080.83.
Trading volume was 128.76 million shares, with turnover of S$245.17 million; there were 202 gainers and 65 losers.
Most index components rose, with 22 advancing, 6 unchanged, and 2 declining. Losers included Frasers Centrepoint Trust and Venture Corporation, falling 0.88% and 0.17% respectively, to S$2.25 and S$17.42.
The top gainer was Jardine Matheson Holdings (JMH), up 6.77% to $67.53.
